Our Fleet
The Bike
Our fleet is based exclusively on 4-stroke KTM EXC-F, Husqvarna FE and Gas GAs EC models. The most common engine sizes in the fleet are the 250 and 350. KTM EXC-F 250: Agility and Handling. The 250 engine is lighter and more compact than larger-displacement models, making it ideal for quick maneuvers and for riders looking for a more intuitive and agile bike, especially on technical and tight courses. Smooth Power Delivery: The 250 engine, thanks to its smaller displacement, offers smoother and more controllable power delivery, inspiring greater confidence in the rider, especially in less complex situations. Ideal for Beginners: The combination of light weight and more manageable power makes it an excellent choice for those new to enduro or for those who don't need the full power of larger-displacement models. KTM EXC-F 350: Perfect Power-to-Weight Balance. The 350 engine offers the ideal balance between power and weight. It offers a powerful yet manageable engine, with a power-to-weight ratio that makes it extremely competitive and high-performance. High Torque at Low RPM: Thanks to electronic fuel injection technology, the 350 engine delivers impressive torque even at low RPM, making it easier to ride and reducing the need for frequent gear changes, a significant advantage off-road. Versatility: The 350 EXC-F is a highly versatile bike, suitable for both experienced and amateur riders, as it can easily handle both technical trails and faster sections.
The Prep
When our bikes arrive at The Whispering Trails, they are promptly transformed into capable Double Purpose motorcycles, with the aim of providing some comfort and features, while respecting the lightweight concept typical of pure enduro bikes. For comfort and safety, the following accessories are installed on all our bikes: * A lightweight aluminum tower equipped with a useful windscreen, a GPS/phone holder (all our expedition participants receive a kit with all GPS files) and a dual USB port. The ignition switch is also relocated to this tower. * Sturdy aluminum hand-guards. * A set of 52L Rack-less bags
The Maintenance
The racing background that characterises The Whispering Trails has profoundly shaped our approach to the maintenance of our bikes. Each individual motorcycle has its own technical data sheet, which we refer to for every maintenance requirement. Upon return from tours, all motorcycles are thoroughly washed and serviced. Here, each technical data sheet is updated based on the current hours of work performed during Expedition. At this point, all components that, according to the manufacturer's specifications, have reached their end of life are serviced (suspension, filters, etc.) or replaced, depending on the component. All mechanical vehicles are inevitably subject to problems, however, careful and constant preventative maintenance is the only way to minimise these risks. At Whispering Trails, you'll always find efficient and Ready to Race bikes.
